Getting started is easy. If you qualify for a CDL, you can get started right away and the company you go to work for may pay for your training!
You must meet the following requirements to obtain a CDL:
You must be 21 years old. (18 years if all driving is done within Michigan and if no hazardous materials requiring placarding are transported).
You must otherwise qualify for the license based on your driving record or criminal background. Any of the following will disqualify you from obtaining a CDL from Tri Area Driving School:
If you possess a license from any state other than your state of residence.
If your license is currently suspended, revoked, denied, or cancelled.
If you have a conviction for operating a vehicle under the influence or impaired in the 24 months preceding your application.
If you have been convicted of a felony in the 12 months preceding your application.
Other technical rules, and further restrictions are covered in detail in the course.
If you qualify, you may be only weeks away from an exiting new career! There are only two things needed to start your training: A Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP) and a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical. We even help you prepare for both as part of the course. Contact us today to find out how to get started!
